Effective date: September 30, 2026
This Privacy Policy explains how CFSsign (“CFSsign,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) collects, uses, discloses, and protects personal information when you visit cfssign.com, use the CFSsign application, receive a signature request, or communicate with us.
1. Information we collect
Account and contact information
We may collect your name, email address, organization, authentication details, team membership, and information you provide when contacting support.
Documents and transaction information
When CFSsign is used to prepare or complete an agreement, we process uploaded documents, recipient information, fields, signatures, initials, timestamps, document status, and related activity needed to operate the signing workflow and maintain its record.
Technical and usage information
We may collect IP address, browser and device information, access times, application events, diagnostic logs, and security-related activity. We use this information to operate, secure, and improve the service.
2. How we use information
- Provide, maintain, and secure CFSsign.
- Create accounts and manage authenticated sessions.
- Deliver signature invitations, reminders, verification messages, and completion notices.
- Process documents and record actions taken in a signing workflow.
- Respond to support, security, and legal requests.
- Detect misuse, investigate incidents, and enforce our terms.
- Understand service performance and improve reliability.
3. How information is shared
We do not sell personal information. We may disclose information in the following circumstances:
- Signing participants. Senders, recipients, and authorized team members may receive documents and transaction information according to the workflow established by the sender.
- Service providers. We use infrastructure, email, storage, monitoring, and other vendors that process information for us under appropriate contractual obligations.
- Legal and safety matters. We may disclose information when required by law or when reasonably necessary to protect rights, security, users, or the public.
- Business changes. Information may be transferred in connection with a merger, financing, acquisition, reorganization, or sale of assets, subject to applicable law.
4. Roles of senders and CFSsign
The organization or person that sends a document generally determines why recipient information and document content are processed. Questions about a particular agreement should first be directed to that sender. CFSsign processes the workflow as a service provider and also processes limited information for its own account administration, security, and legal obligations.
5. Retention
We retain information for as long as reasonably necessary to provide the service, maintain transaction records, meet legal and contractual requirements, resolve disputes, and protect the service. Account owners may have controls for deleting documents or closing accounts, subject to required retention and backup cycles.
6. Security
We use administrative, technical, and physical safeguards designed to protect information. These include encrypted transport, encrypted storage, access controls, monitoring, backups, and network protections. No system can guarantee absolute security. Please review our Security page for more information.
7. Your choices and rights
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to request access, correction, deletion, restriction, or portability of personal information, or to object to certain processing. We may need to verify your identity and may direct a request concerning a specific document to the organization that sent it. Contact us at privacy@cfssign.com.
8. Cookies and similar technologies
We use cookies and local storage that are necessary for authentication, security, preferences, and core application operation. If we introduce nonessential analytics or advertising technologies, we will provide any notices and choices required by applicable law.
9. Children’s privacy
CFSsign is a business service and is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.
10. International processing
Information may be processed in the United States and other locations where we or our service providers operate. Where required, we use appropriate safeguards for cross-border transfers.
11. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy as the service or applicable law changes. We will post the updated version here and revise the effective date. Material changes may also be communicated through the service or by email.
